Next Meeting: a two day Helsinki Meeting Point, to take place in Theatre Hurjaruuth on Friday 9.12 and Saturday 10.12, featuring eight international artists:
Giorgio Convertito (dance), Riikka Theresa Innanen (dance), Marisa Grande (Ita/NL, dance), Elena Kakaliagou (french horn), Pia Lindy (dance), Alejandro Olarte (guitar and electronics), Marko Timlin (percussions and electronics), Barnaby Tree (UK/Ger, cello).
A special Extended Edition of the HMP: this time the group will meet already on the day preceding the performance and all the artists will be present on both nights, performing in different constellations as well as a full size group.
On Saturday 10.12 a 'Conversation on Improvisation' will take place in the Hurjaruuth foyer (time to be announced). The HMP featured artists and other bright minds will participate in this public talk.

The
Helsinki Meeting Point is a free improvisation event where dance and music meet. The performers of each event are selected professionals that will meet for the first time a few hours before the show. This group of dancers and musicians is creating together a unique journey of sound, body and choreography. Two improvised sessions of 30min each, where creativity, intuition and instant composition create a fresh, inspiring and entertaining performance. The HMP's main purpose is to cultivate unlimited free improvisation in Helsinki.
The HMP is
a Giorgio Convertito and Saara Rautio production and is supported by
the Arts Council of Finland.
